We all know the classic story, Jack and the Beanstalk but have you seen a modern day Jack playing computer games and flying up the beanstalk instead of climbing it? I like Mindshapes’ updated version better as it is more appealing than the dated Jack and the Beanstalk storybooks that we have in our home library.

This is just the thing for your reluctant primary schooler who hates having to memorize and drill basic math problems over and over but loves playing video games in which you get to make things explode. My kids loved giving it a whirl, and I admit I lost many minutes to it myself.
