Director of Content
Description:
Mindshapes is looking to hire a creative individual to join Mindshapes as a content director for Language City, a dynamic language learning virtual world.
Main responsibilities:
- Create Language City conversation style:
- Update existing conversations, tasks and quests to reflect the casual and fun learning experience, while making sure the learning objectives are met
- Expand existing content:
- Collaborate with game designers to map out topics and situations to expand the conversation base
- Write short and engaging dialogues on everyday topics (ordering food, finding one’s way around, chatting up a hottie in a bar, etc)
- Integrate new content:
- Develop creative ways of integrating other media (video, audio, art, etc) into the Language City to enrich the learning experience
- Working together with the commercial team, secure continuous supply of such content
Skills and experience:
- Superior writing skills (scripts, dialogues, articles, etc)
- Experienced ESL teacher
- Keen interest in language learning and travel
- Experience in creating and / or producing other media (video, audio, etc)
- Experience in working for travel publication is a plus

Digital Marketing Intern
Description:
Mindshapes, a leading interactive learning company that creates virtual worlds and apps that help children and adults learn through gameplay, is seeking an intern for two to three months to assist the Commercial team with online and offline marketing initiatives, competitor analysis, search engine marketing and market research.
Mindshapes’ products include educational iOS apps for children aged 2-12, as well as two virtual worlds, Magic Town and Language City (both launching spring 2012). The founders of Mindshapes also co-founded social games company Playfish (which was sold to Electronic Arts in 2009) and Macrospace, now known as Glu Mobile, a major publisher of mobile games. Staff here include talent from HarperCollins, Scholastic, the BBC, Disney, Virgin Media, Sega, Sony and more.
The successful candidate will get the chance to be part of a dynamic, growing, and friendly technology start-up based in Chelsea.

PR Manager (UK)
Description:
Mindshapes is looking to hire a PR manager to help establish Mindshapes as a category-defining brand among parents and education professionals. The PR Manager will be responsible for defining, managing and executing the PR function as part of the Commercial Team, utilising internal and external resources to develop strong interest from key media and bloggers.
Main responsibilities:
- Strategic and Tactical PR Planning – developing detailed strategic and tactical PR plans, across all media developing positive media coverage and awareness of the company’s brands and products
- Social media - developing an integrated social media strategy, establishing deep relationships with the top parent bloggers in key markets and personally driving the ‘voice of Mindshapes’ across social media.
- Media Relations - Expanding and building closer media relationships at editor/publisher level across all media categories. Providing regular release and marketing support information to media partners
- Internal Communications - building and maintaining close working relationships and communications with teams throughout the company to ensure cross-fertilisation of PR plan ideas, and fulfilment of required assets and resources
- Event Management – planning and management of highly creative key media events and launch events
- Agency Management – driving agency objectives and actions through close partnership and regular status meetings with agency managers and execs. Managing agency budgets and key planning periods.
- Evaluation – evaluating and reporting on PR campaigns in order to drive forward improved initiatives and key learnings for future plans and activities
Skills and experience:
This PR Manager role requires extensive experience in Public Relations, either in-house or agency, and should feature strong experience with companies targeting family media and in particular parent bloggers.
The skills and knowledge required for this role includes:- Proven track record of successful PR campaign planning
- Extensive relationships with parent bloggers and social media channel activation and management experience
- Extensive media relationships & knowledge of specialist and mainstream media
- Extensive communication and blogging experience
- Excellent project and budget management skills
- Proven event management skills
